Prairie Steam Locomotive & Tender - ATSF #2129 - N Scale

The ATSF #2129 Prairie 2-6-2 steam locomotive is a model in N scale that replicates the early 1900s steam locomotives that were commonly used on railroad lines in the Midwestern prairies. These locomotives, affectionately known as "prairies", were the first domestic freight engines with a trailing truck. While their performance at high speeds was not optimal, they found great utility on dual service branch lines and logging lines.

This N scale model accurately represents the body details of the original locomotive, with a die-cast chassis and metal handrails. It also features a skew-wound motor with bronze bearings, as well as electrical pick-up for both the engine and tender. Traction tires are included to provide greater pulling power, and the locomotive performs best on 11.25" radius curves or greater.

Additionally, the model comes equipped with an E-z Mate Mark II coupler on the tender. The N scale of 1:160 ensures that the model is a faithful reproduction of the original Prairie 2-6-2 steam locomotive.
