EMD SD70ACe #1982 UP Heritage Missouri Pacific N Scale Train by Kato USA Model Train Products

The SD70ACe, an evolution of the SD70MAC, is the latest locomotive in the line of EMD's "70" series. Its radiator design is reminiscent of the SD80/90 body. With 4300 horsepower, it has been designed to meet the latest EPA standards and regulations. The Union Pacific has placed the largest purchase order for these units. In a show of respect for the railroads it has incorporated, the Union Pacific has produced six "Heritage" style painted locomotives. Each locomotive is painted in a style that pays tribute to a specific railroad that has been merged into the UP, with road numbers designated by the year of the merger. Locomotive #1982, painted in Mopac blues, proudly displays the Missouri Pacific Eagle spreading its wings down the side and on the nose of the engine. It bears the road number 1982, representing the year the Missouri Pacific became part of the Union Pacific. The locomotive features exceptional and crisp molding to accentuate the distinct angular lines of the nose, and a powerful Kato mechanism powered by a 5-pole flywheel motor. It also has a minimum turning radius of 9 3/4 inches, directional headlight, illuminated preprinted number boards, illuminated ditch lights, and a DCC Friendly mechanism ready for drop-in decoder installation.
